Cabernet Franc
A hardy grape with lower acidity. Delicate and aromatic particularly in its youth. Shares many attributes of Cabernet Sauvignon, but is distinct by its pronounced green, vegetal note that can range from leafy and garrigue to green bell pepper.
A Bordeaux varietal used mostly for blending, this wine shows bright strawberry and plum fruits. There is a mild chili-pepper spice on the finish to balance it out, making it an enjoyable wine to drink both with and without food.

A long held dream among good friends - to grow and vinify world-class, warm climate varietals from the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon - came to fruition in 1996 with the founding of Griffin Creek Vineyards. Both winemaker and winegrower are dedicated to producing only wines of exquisite quality centered around overt fruit character, richness and balance.
Griffin Creek wines hail from a selection of estate controlled vineyards meticulously farmed at low tonnages. Within these plantings are an array of old, newly proven and experimental grape clones. Complexity is achieved by fermentation, aging for 18 months in French Oak barrels, and selective blending of individual vineyards, blocks and clones.

Their winemaking philosophy is to make single vineyard wines that reflect the terroir and assures the expression of the vineyard and varietal clone, but most importantly, it is their desire to enhance the pleasure of your dining experience.
Tasting notes: Aromas of earthy notes of forest floor and pepper evolving into an earthy berry flavor on an elegant finish.

Amongst the “Fighting Varietals” there exists a grand “Battalla,” as various versions of vinifera compete for the hearts and minds of the populace. With this bottling, Quady North proudly professes their preference for that alternative Cab, namely the forthright Franc. No fake fermentations here, they went old school, co-mingling whole clusters of Malbec at crush, and using native yeast. Light, bright, and full of red fruit and spice notes. We think that you’ll find that this bottling of Cabernet Franc stands counter to the currant and resists the tyranny of tannin.

The warm days and cool nights of the Rogue Valley allow for an extended growin season, optimal for the true expression of this grape. The highest degree of varietal character and terroir is achieved through this slow maturation and extended hang time. This bottle is meant to heighten the sense of delight and fulfillment found in gathering to eat and drink. We believe it is the function of wine and food to enhance fellowship, discussion and the exchange of ideas. Please raise a toast to health and happiness through good meals, conversation and socializing.
