As you swirl you’ll see the beautiful dark, deep ruby color and pick up the aroma of dill, lavender, floral, elderberry, and yes, bacon fat. You may detect flavors of cranberry, tart cherry, blackberry, and strawberry and pick up the soft tannin in the mouth, with tart blueberry (acidity) in the lingering finish.
Our Sangiovese is crafted in a Super-Tuscan style with 7.8% Merlot. This blend aged 22 months in a 3 year-old French oak barrel (which at that point is essentially neutral).

Historically, winemakers often co-ferment the red grape, Syrah, with a small amount of the white grape, Viognier. Here at Zerba Cellars, we put a twist on this technique by co-fermenting Viognier and Syrah with the Italian grape, Sangiovese. The result is a varietal Sangiovese unlike any other. Feminine aromas of rose petals and dried purple flowers meld seamlessly with typical varietal aromas of leather, sun-dried tomato, and spice. Savory, complex, and highly aromatic, this wine represents both what Sangiovese is, and what it can be!

Cento Per Cento or “a hundred for a hundred” (100% Sangiovese) has high tones of cherry, plum and fresh cut young roses anchored by sagebrush, dust, and whole cluster baking spices. Full of flavor yet light on its feet, it's great with classic Italian dishes like Pappa al Pomodoro and pizza. Cento per Cento shines on its own, best shared amongst family and friends.
