Trousseau takes a little extra work in that if you’re not careful, it can get pretty tannic rather quickly, but all that work is certainly worth it as it is consistently the most graceful and feminine wine James Rahn makes.

The growing season of 2020 was perfect - until the smoke came. Due to multiple wildfires in the area it was smokey for over a week. At first it was high altitude which turned the sky mars red. On the third day, however, the wind stopped and all of that smoke settled to the ground. Many vineyards were negatively impacted, but many in the far northern part of the Willamette Valley were less affected, which is exactly the case with this wine. As it should be, the texture is silky and graceful with bright red fruit, balanced acidity, and a lingering finish.
