An Intro to Rizzo Winery

Rizzo Winery is a tucked away gem, where there’s a merriment of old and new. A small, yet passionate team who looked upon the horizon and decided this was where they’d become established. Growing something unique to them and continuously exciting year after year. They have come a long way from winning awards on wines produced in the garage of Winemaker David Rizzo.

Native grasses have been added to the purity of Oregon’s natural landscape, for their infant cows to graze. Rows and rows of vines are cooled and dried from the great Van Duzer winds. This allows for premium grapes grown naturally. Not just Pinot Noir is grown on the estate, but Viognier as well. An uncommon white variety in the Willamette Valley, but a delicious one at that.

With picnics of blue cheese, roasted hazelnuts and toast always seemingly in season here, David enjoys creating an incredibly palatable and easy to pair Muscat Canelli wine. One that has a place in every season, but works best with the crunch of fall leaves underway.

All wines are created with the thoughtful labor of family and friends. That spirit carries us through uncertain times and creates excitement for the many more wines to come.
